ISKCON Navi Mumbai at Kharghar, officially known as the Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohan Temple, is a grand spiritual and cultural complex situated in Panvel, Maharashtra. Established under the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, it serves as a vibrant center for worship, education, and community engagement in the Navi Mumbai region. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha and stands out for its scale, design, and devotional ambience.
Architecture and Design
Spread across approximately nine acres at the foothills of the Sahyadri range, the temple complex features majestic domes, intricately carved façades, and vast courtyards built according to traditional Vastu Shastra. Its marble interiors, elaborate murals, and towering spires reflect classical temple architecture. Inaugurated in January 2025, the site has been described as one of Asia’s largest ISKCON temples.
Spiritual and Cultural Offerings
The temple’s daily schedule includes morning and evening aarti, kirtan, and Bhagavad-gita discourses. It houses multiple shrines for deities such as Sri Sri Radha Madana Mohana, Sita-Rama-Lakshmana-Hanuman, and Gaura-Nitai. Regular festivals like Janmashtami, Ratha Yatra, and Govardhan Puja attract large gatherings. Visitors also enjoy prasadam at Govinda’s vegetarian restaurant and can participate in meditation and Vedic studies programs.
Community Facilities
Beyond worship, the complex promotes holistic living through its Ayurvedic center, guesthouse, and upcoming Vedic museum and educational center. It also conducts charitable activities, community feeding programs, and cultural workshops under the “Glory of Maharashtra Cultural Centre.”
Visitor Experience
Located opposite the Kharghar Golf Course and near Central Park, the temple offers a peaceful retreat amid urban Navi Mumbai. It is accessible via Kharghar Railway Station (≈ 4 km) and Central Park Metro Station. Visitors praise its serene ambience, cleanliness, and devotional atmosphere, though parking can be limited on weekends.
